Steve Becker’s photography is rooted in the traditional, time honored space of documentary.
Working alone with a journalists eye; on the barren streets of Chicago’s District 22 or in the highly styled rooms of Trump Tower, the remote landscape of Alaska or in a lavishly decorated arena for a corporate Gala, Steve uses his camera like a laser, homing in on the moments that will become photographs.
As a documentarian, Steve is subject-indifferent. He can create compelling images anywhere: on a rugby-field in Chicago, a corporate boardroom, the inside of a police car. From intimate and private moments to the very public and anonymous ones, he possesses the ability to create a strong narrative image in the briefest of moments.
